The
effect of the tariffs have already begun affecting small businesses across the country. Here are some of stories of those stores and how they are dealing with it.
Good afternoon,
Attached is the Coalition Application for Corddry Crossing Hobbies.
We just opened back in August of 2024. We had very strong sales until about mid March when things just went downhill....
The community is heavily tourist funded with agriculture as our biggest industry, along with a town of 2,500 people.
We have already seen a decline in sales, and we are afraid the tariffs might hurt an upstart small business.
We have a kids club in the middle of the store, in which really brings the community together especially around the holidays. The tariffs might be the hit which shuts down the club for good. The club has been running since 1992. We had to relocate the club last year due to the loss of the building, and I opened the hobby shop to help support the rent for the club, along with providing a need to the local area. The nearest hobby shop of this caliber is a good two hour drive away.
Thanks,
Frank Deuter
